I was really looking forward to getting a grade back (seeing as it is our only one), but of course, when I elbowed my way to the disheveled pile of papers that the class had descended upon like vultures on a yak carcass (I have no idea where "yak" came from but just go with it) I couldn't seem to find mine. After every other student had retrieved their paper (even the kid who sits next to me who NEVER takes notes and seems to think he signed up for The Art of Napping instead of Christian Vision in Literature) and all that was left was the dregs, I still could not spot my paper among the three remaining. When I brought this to the attention of my probably-genius-but-generally-incomprehensible professor, he took full responsibility and insisted that he would check his inbox and have my graded paper back to me by Monday. All in all, I guess it could be worse. Here's hoping he feels bad for losing my original paper and is more generous with my grade. Extra points for patience? That should be a thing.
